Dearest Members of the Fairway Society,

June has arrived with confident sunshine and scorecards that suddenly feel far more serious. The season is no longer merely beginning — it is gaining momentum.

Before we look ahead, we must properly applaud those who have already distinguished themselves this spring. Congratulations to our 2026 Spring Team Champions:

🏆 Division I – O’Bannon Creek
🏆 Division II – Losantiville
🏆 Division III – Western Hills

Your steady swings, strategic play, and admirable composure have set a splendid standard for the season ahead.

Spring Team does not simply happen — it is orchestrated. And it would be quite improper not to recognize Linda Ball, Spring Team Chair, who did a truly outstanding job organizing the season from start to finish. Coordinating clubs, schedules, and scorekeeping is no small feat — and Linda handled it with grace and precision.

We must also give a well-deserved nod to Trisha Reperowitz, who launched GENIUS as our scoring platform for Spring Team. For many of us — myself included — this innovation reduced scoring time by nearly 75%. When efficiency meets excellence, everyone benefits. Trisha’s leadership has made the administrative side of competition smoother than ever.

This week, the spotlight now turns to the Metropolitan Amateur Championship, while across our member clubs, She Tournament Qualifiers continue to unfold — a thrilling reminder of the depth of talent within GCWGA.

Behind the scenes, our summer calendar is unfolding beautifully thanks to the thoughtful planning of Dee Oppedisano, Tournament Chair, and Allison Mayborg, Assistant Tournament Chair, who have been diligently preparing the July and August tournaments.

The beloved Low Kent Tournament, set for July 8th, and the elegant Crystal Bowl Tournament, taking place on July 21st, promise spirited play and cherished tradition.

A gentle but important reminder:

📅 Low Kent Registration Opens: June 3, 2026 at 8:00 PM — yes, PM.
📅 Crystal Bowl Registration Opens: June 16, 2026 at 8:00 PM — again, yes, PM.

One suspects alarms may already be set.

Yet amid the excitement of competition, we pause with grateful hearts to remember Robin Kofler.

Robin was not simply a competitor — she was a cornerstone of our association. As one of the founders of the Scholarship Foundation and a guiding leader of the She Tournament, her vision strengthened the very fabric of GCWGA. Her influence endures in every qualifier played and every scholarship awarded.

June is where rhythm becomes resolve and friendly competition finds its edge.

Yours in focus, gratitude, and fairways,

The Lady of the Links
