Dearest Members of the Fairway Society,
April has arrived at last, and with it the triumphant return of fairways, friendships, and freshly polished clubs. The 2026 season is officially underway, and one can almost hear the delighted rustle of scorecards across our beloved Cincinnati.
Spring Team play is awakening from its winter slumber, and it would be quite improper not to recognize the women orchestrating it all. Linda Ball has done a superb job organizing Spring Team this year—an undertaking requiring patience, precision, and perhaps a bit of diplomacy. And let us offer a knowing nod to Trisha Reperowitz, who is simplifying life for many by leveraging GENIUS for both Spring and Fall Team. When talent meets technology, marvelous things happen.
We are equally pleased to welcome several exceptional women to our Board:
- Allison Mayborg – Assistant Tournament Chair
- Megan Candee – Fall Team Chair/Technology/LTP
- Linda Ball – Spring Team Chair
- Julie Tissot– GCWGA/Foundation Secretary
(Yes, dear readers, these ladies are the talk of the season.)
Their willingness to serve ensures GCWGA remains not merely organized—but vibrant, spirited, and ready for a season of splendid competition.
As we step to the first tee, may we carry this wisdom:
“Balance and tempo matter more than power. When you stay balanced, good things tend to happen.”
— Annika Sörenstam
And when a putt dares to misbehave:
“Do your best, one shot at a time—and then move on.”
— Nancy Lopez
Do keep a watchful eye on Facebook and the website as the season unfolds. Until then, may your drives be confident, your putts be true, and your camaraderie unmatched.
Yours faithfully in sport and society,
The Lady of the Links
