2025 Fall Team Play

Welcome, Everyone, to the 2025 Fall Team Page.  We are trying to be user-friendly, so you can click to one page and find what you need for the FALL Team.

• Click on the link in the last row of each Division Column to see the schedule for the 2025 Fall Team Schedule.
• The Division will post weekly results once Donna Heine, Publicity Chair, receives all.  Division Chairs, please email the total points scored by each team during the matches, by club name, to publicity@gcwga.org.  Please email the totals; do not send a picture of the master sheet, as it is difficult to read.

TIPS & THOUGHTS ABOUT FALL TEAM

• Speed of Play Is So Important! If you are out of the hole, pick up.  Keep up with the group in front of you and be ready to TEE off.  Score your card at the next hole. Whichever player(s) wins the previous hole should proceed quickly to the next tee box.    Ready golf is excellent, if that is what you agree to, but then BE READY, EVERYONE.  The Tee box can hold 4 of us without sinking into the ground.
• Know What You’re Putting for When You Reach the Green.  It is customary to ask where everybody is once on the GREEN, especially on par 5s or challenging holes.  Don’t take it personally if someone asks or disagrees with your count.  We all can miss a shot in our count.  It influences what the other players might do on their putt in match play, including your partner. Remember when we first started golf in our 30s/40s, we had that BEAD thing.  Now that we are in our 50s/60s/70s, maybe it is time for a Hobby Lobby visit.
• We Want to Have Fun.  This competition is designed for us to have fun!  But Fall Team players are competitive, and each team aims to earn as many points as possible. Sometimes people say, “I don’t really care,” or “this isn’t professional golf,” or “we were desperate, so they asked me to play.”  Let’s be positive.  For many of us, the Fall Team is a highlight of the Golf Season.  We strive to play well by August 1st so we can play on the Fall Team.  There is nothing like playing golf and watching the leaves turn colors!
• Know if you have DOTS on a hole.  It is your responsibility as a team to know, not your opponents.  Remember, Fall Team is “net scores” not “gross scores.”  If you pick up too early and have a “dot”, you are out of the hole. It could mean the difference between winning and tying.  Just be sure to check your card after teeing off.
