Greetings Everyone,

Wow — it’s hard to believe we’re already at the end of August, with our major tournaments behind us and the SHE Tournament on September 8th just ahead! We want to take a moment to thank all of you who participated in the Kent High, Kent Low, Nine Wine & Dine, and the Crystal Bowl. These events are always a highlight of our season, and your energy and sportsmanship make them truly special.

We did need to correct the Crystal Bowl results that were announced during the luncheon on August 11th at Oasis. We have always followed the guideline that each team is awarded the highest prize in their flights, whether Gross or Net! When reviewing the leaderboard initially, it is not always clear. Our principle is to look at the GROSS score winners first for each flight. If a Gross score winner ranks higher in the NET for their flight, they will be awarded the NET prize, along with the “winnings.” A team can only win once in the tournament.  We had several of these situations during the Crystal Bowl.

Example: A team wins both 1st place gross and 1st place net in Flight 1; they will be awarded 1st place gross and be taken out of the awards in Flight 1 NET, hence a team below them in Net would move up to the 1st place, etc.

The GENIUS platform does not calculate this on the Leadership Board, and it requires manual adjustment for each tournament.

Accuracy and fairness are at the heart of everything we do, and we are grateful for your patience and understanding. Most importantly, we want to congratulate our winners once again — your outstanding play deserves to be celebrated!

A big thank you, as well,  to our tournament chairs, volunteers, host clubs, and all of you who make these events possible. We’re excited to carry this momentum into the SHE Tournament and the rest of our season.

If you have any questions, please email publicity@gcwga.org

With gratitude and enthusiasm,

GCWGA Leadership Team
