To say it was beginner’s luck would be inaccurate, since all of the team members have played golf for years, but for a few members of the winning teams at the 2020 High Kent tournament on July 21, their inaugural rounds at Maketewah Country Club proved to be particularly rewarding. The Kenwood Country Club team of Captain Ginger Lippmeier-Suarez and Dawn Bertsche, Beth Gianetti and Karen Hjelm won the High Kent 1st Low Gross championship over the second-place team of Captain Diane Rottinghaus, Kim Rollinger, Diane Sundrup and Lynn Torbeck from Miami
The BHP Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to women’s amateur golf Lynn has been participating in WOSGA events since 1979. She is a five-time champion of the Ohio State Seniors, and runner up in the Ohio State Amateur in 1980. Lynn is a member of O’Bannon Creek Golf Club, where she has won 17 club championships. Lynn has also won the Greater Cincinnati Women’s Metropolitan championship twice and Cincinnati Senior Met four times. Unae Mueller recalls not playing very well in her first couple of rounds at Western Hills Country Club.
