Scholarships Awarded

On Monday, July 28th, the Greater Cincinnati Women's Golf Association (GCWGA) awarded two tri-state high school females, Laura McGehee of Lakeside Park, KY and Marissa Steen of West Chester, OH with a $1000.00 scholarship each. The awards were given at the O'Bannon Creek Golf Club after our annual Member/Jr. Tournament.


Laura McGehee is from Lakeside Park, KY and will be going to the University of KY in the fall. She went to Villa Madonna Academy High School and is an excellent student. She was the President of the Student Council, National Honor Society, lettered in golf, basketball, and volley ball. Her community projects included helping with a junior golf clinic at the North Key Foundation that helps behavioral problems.


Marissa Steen is from West Chester, OH and went to Lakota High School. She will be going to the University of Memphis in the fall. Marissa played 4 years of golf in high school that went to state all 4 years. She helped her team win state in 2006. In 2007 she was the Ohio Junior Girls Champion. She plays out of Four Bridges Golf Club where she helps run various youth golf clinics. She wants to major in Sports Management at the Univ. Of Memphis and her ultimate goal is to be a PGA professional.

  • Congratulations to Joan Comisar for her Hole-In-One on No. 8 at Camargo on May 30th.
  • Congratulations to Lori Roberts for her Hole-in-one on No. 3 at Heritage on May 30th.
  • Congratulations to Kate Cassidy for her hole-in-one on hole #2 at Maketewah on Aug. 3rd.
  • Congratulations to Renee Obial for her hole-in-one on hole #12 at Ivy Hills on Aug. 8th.
